W.D O’Connell Whiskey Merchants will release two single cask classics, a 19 year-old single malt from their PX Series, and a 13 year-old single malt from their Sherry Series.
For the first time, our single casks will be shared between Ireland and some of our export markets. Belgium, Germany, Netherlands & Luxembourg will all receive an allocation so we are bringing out a total three single cask releases for Christmas 2021, with a third coming online by December 17th.
PX SERIES 19 YEAR OLD SINGLE MALT
The 3rd release in the PX Series is a single cask of 342 bottles and a return to the 70 cl format from the first PX bottling.The 19-year old single malt was distilled at Cooley and matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks for 17 years before a second maturation for 30 months in ex-Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. Bottled at 46%, non-chill filtered with no added colour, it is a rich, full bodied Irish whiskey that showcases the continued progression of the limited series of Pedro Ximénez-influenced single malt Irish whiskeys.

SHERRY SERIES 13 YEAR OLD SINGLE MALT
The 2nd release in the Sherry Series is a single cask of 294 bottles of cask-strength all-sherry single malt Irish whiskey. It was distilled at Bushmills and matured exclusively in Oloroso sherry casks for 13 years. Bottled at 59%, non-chill filtered with no added colour, the latest edition is truly an all-sherry release and can be described as simply outstanding. With notes of dark chocolate, roasted hazelnuts, sherry-soaked raisins & clove spices, the bottle is arriving just in time for warming up in the cold winter weather. More, please.
