The Whistler P.X. I Love You is a unique and thoughtful gift idea for Valentine’s Day.
Made from 100% malted barley, The Whistler P.X. I Love You is first aged in ex-bourbon barrels, imparting a complex flavour profile. This single malt whiskey gets it name from the Spanish Pedro Ximenez ( PX) sherry casks it is aged in for nine months.
On the nose, it offers notes of sherry, dried fruits and brown sugar while the palate is greeted with a combination of walnut and zesty citrus flavours.
It also forms part of the award-winning Whistler range of Irish whiskeys from Drogheda-based Boann Distillery.
Official Tasting Notes:
Nose – Fantastically delicious sherry nose. Dried berries, raisins, cherries and sultanas/golden raisins, with candied orange and sticky brown/demerara sugar.
Palate – Wood forward opening, with an incredibly viscous yet crisp palate. The dried fruits and brown sugar from the nose are joined on the palate by walnut, zesty citrus and a hint of leather.
Finish – Walnut, dried fruits and the subtle wood prickle remain for a lengthy dry finish with a subtle hint of dark chocolate.
